first of all, while the on-chip RAM on the Maxim/Dallas DS89C4x0's is only 1kKB, I've had 512kB attached and used nearly all of it with no problems. Further, the features make it capable of outperforming any AVR in a DIL package.
Further, if you're into DSP-ing, you might find the MAC in some of the SiLabs parts handy. I think you may be fooling yourself. Further, you can't get those AVR's from any mfg other than ATMEL. Now, I personally wouldn't use an ATMEL product under any circumstances, even low price. I've found them to be unreliable and untruthful in their written documents and, much more so, in their oral communications. I only needed to experience that once. I don't recommend anything of theirs to anyone. RE |
