#132780 - how would that fix a compiler bug? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
response to http://www.8052.com/forumchat/read.phtml?id=132776
c) how would that fix a compiler bug? also see e) d) how very cumbersome, and how do you propose to 'know' if the "corrected version" uses R6 that that is OK without "studying the innards of SDCC" also see e) e) if you are ABSOLUTOTALLY sure that the bug only affect ONE place ONLY (I would not be) that would be an option, but as stated it is NOT. f)or I could just buy a toolset and get it the next day, not when "a third party programmer" got around to "addressing my needs". PLEASE DO NOTE: I have no problem with what the "open source club" does, I just have a problem with them insisting that their 'solution' is better for everyone. Furtunately their fanatic fundamentalism does not cause violence, just words. The words that triggered my series of responses to this thread were two consequtive statements parapharsed "our stuff is good, why do you not use it" - THEN "if you do not 'contribute' you are scum" I do not have the time to 'contribute' and, since I do not use any of the stuff I am, evidently, not a loot. However the price tag ('contribute') evidently is higher for SDCC than for Keil. Of course, if your time is of no value (mine has value) the above is incorrect. Erik |
