#127411 - It's true ... we see things differently Responding to: ???'s previous message |
There's an old military saying, "Where you sit determines what you see." It applies here, in spades.
I have lots of eval boards of various sorts, and lots of different programmable logic, all reprogrammable. I reuse everything, since my work is mainly in the "proof of concept" phase of development. My work seldom finds its way into volume production. That's why I'm always chasing after something new and different with the old, tried-and-true stuff I like. I don't know what Mike does, or how he uses his eval boards. I've occasionally found boards that I find truly useful, and therefore have a number of them sitting around, or know where I can get 'em if I need 'em. Because I have to lash up various boards performing various functions, I'm always happy to see connectors and prototype areas on these boards. Many people would rather buy a whole raft of things than wire up a connection between two boards. I'm not among their number, as you may have guesed. I still wire-wrap connections between components and cable connections between boards. RE |
