Which facts, precisely, do you believe I didn't get straight?
THIS: There are functional replacements for all software that I, and most people, need There is NO "functional replacement" for the SILabs software, that will run under Linux; Please read what I said before saying something silly. SILabs software is not something most people need. It's a niche market, far from mainstream. Most people need software such as spreadsheets, word processors, email, internet access, etc, etc. Most people also need software that directly relates to their business, whatever it may be. Most people do not need exactly what you need. Nor do they need something exactly like whatever it is that runs on Windows. They can get by quite well with a functional equivalent, which despite your seeming interpretation, does not mean an exact duplicate. If you need SILabs, and nothing else will do, then by all means use it. But don't assume that the needs of everyone else are exactly the same as yours. While looking up the definition of supercilious, also look up "parochial". there is no "functional replacement", for the software for any ICE I know of that will run under Linux; Perhaps not, but I'll bet you didn't bother to look. Nor should you, since you've locked yourself in to Windows. But don't claim there is no equivalent until you've done an exhaustive search, which I seriously doubt you have done. |
