... thanks to Microsoft.
Special hardware (certain programmers come to mind) with Windows-only drivers ? Two of my open source projects are programmer drivers for hardware the comes with Windows-only applications. Many others do similar software. Seek and ye shall find. Software that doesn't exist for Linux (... Keil uVision, for example) ? There are functional replacements for all software that I, and most people, need. If you're wedded to a particular solution such as Keil, that's a problem of your own choosing. I've always thought of "requiring" any particular program (as opposed to a functional equivalent) to be a lame excuse for volunteering to live in the Microsoft cesspool. I do realize that some people don't mind putting up with viruses, BSODs, etc, and I acknowledge that that is their right, so please don't start a flame war over it. Games ? Don't get me started :-) |
