Really? I'd say that means that they weren't really Joe Sixpacks or that I'm actually less technically inclined than Joe Sixpacks (which seems doubtful).


"Joe Sixpack", in this context, includes all those middle school students who were given Linux install CDs by lobby4linux and managed to have their systems up and running within two hours without any guidance.

They did so on desktop systems, not laptops (see my post in another thread), so that may be a factor in your lack of success. I can only conjecture about your experiences with Linux. What I know is that tens of millions have not experienced your problems, and do productive work without having to put up with the grief of Windows. As always, YMMV.
