#126874 - ethernet mac Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Jez,
I'm not sure an ethernet mac will serve an 805x much. What's more, that stupid, Stupid, STUPID MII that's popular with many CPU's that have a MAC but no PHY uses so many pins it's not worth the trouble. What's more, the PHY's cost another couple of bucks (1.50 anyway) and that's too much in quantities abouve 3. Why don't they just build the PHY into the chip to start with? Now, a PLL adequate for Gbit ethernet would be adequate for anything that you might use an 805x to do. Sorry about your accident ... Back when I had horses, and all my body parts, I had this one walking horse that I'd gotten for training my upland game dogs, whose practice it was, and only on Saturday afternoons and Sunday mornings, though I rode him without incident during the week, to unhorse me on this one field we generally traversed on the way back to the barn. It took that opportunity to run up to this one fence corner where he'd chat with horses in the adjacent pasture. I'd walk up, get back on, and ride him back to the barn. No trouble, really, but a routine to which he adhered so long as I had him. RE |
