we had a 0.35 texas instruments process which turned out to be a pain in the arse because we were the first users of a new fab and they were using our design to test for bugs basically,anyway we had this very same debate and in the end settled on saying that as far as our target customers were concerned none of them had an application bigger than the 64k code space because they were porting existing applications and thats really never been a problem.If you give them more then they will use it but that was my experiance,working core and happy customers.
