#126870 - "bank switching no0t needed"
Responding to: ???'s previous message
  • A search for "bank switch" on this forum yielded more than 240 results

  • chip vendors apparently sell 8051 derivatives with more than 64kByte code memory

  • there are several application notes on the net dedicated to the topic of bank switching

  • several compilers implement bank switching and most of them for business reasons

  • So, sorry Erik, the general statement "bank switching no0t needed" is not true and I'm slightly annoyed to find me arguing on this level.

I'd like to re-emphasize that the scheme I proposed in the posting to which you responded causes a significantly lower overhead than the switching mechanism used nowadays.
