The guy who wants to know about how to expand the I/O on an 805x-core MCU is using it in 8031-mode

The issue with this approach is that, when using current technology, if you add MMIO you first lose 16 port pins that you have available until you add external memory(mapped) stuff. why lose 16 pins to expand I/O.

Of course if your preferred brand has not come out with internal XRAM, then it is not the method, but the preference that is the problem.
