Consider the public school approach to teaching computers. When my kids were in middle-school, there were "computer" classes. However, when I looked into what was taught, it was just a "typing" class. The teachers had no concept of what sorts of problems were suitable for computer solution. In fact, most of the teachers had no concept of problem solving at all.
