Erik Getting all the information you need from a customer who isn't clear on what he needs/wants is like pulling teeth, since he generally doesn't want to rule out things he hopes he doesn't need, hence, doesn't want to pay for. Nevertheless, if you sign a contract vague enough that your customer can say, "That's not what I wanted!" then you've failed to do your job. Now it's different if you're on salary, but it's often desirable to get a "statement of work" from your boss if he's paying you by the month rather than by the hour or by the task. If you don't do that, you will almost certainly be spending late nights at the office/lab. RE RE |
