What would keep a person with an inadequately provisioned ARM from switching to one with more resources?
Ultimately, they can go to a microprocessor rather than a microcontroller, choosing one, perhaps, that has the support for the 512 MB of DDR SDRAM that he ( probably incorrectly ) assumes he'll need, along with the required peripherals. The same tools support 'em all, don't they? Likewise, one could do that with an 805x-core MCU, though there aren't any of which I know that even think about supporting SDRAM. Nonetheless, if that '2051 isn't big and resource-rich enough, nothing stops one from using a SiLabs "big-un" instead, since it has the on-chip gadgets and other resources that one needs. If you're having to switch from a 16C-whatever PIC to an ARM9, well, you should anticipate a bit of pain. RE |
