#176413 - Cable can not be ignored Responding to: ???'s previous message |
In a one-wire system, capacitance and resistance in the cable is an important parameter. So it really is relevant to talk about the complete solution and not consider a sensor and an assembly to be practically identical. This is especially important when a one-wire sensor is used in capacitive mode, only powered from the data signal.
Just testing the CRC readout will not tell you if you have reasonable safety margins. Maybe your supplier will switch cable from one batch to another, resulting in an assembly that works significantly differently out in a real-life installatin, but that just about manage to read correctly in your jig. A big problem here is that you have assumed that you know what is important and what isn't. The quality of the answers will then be affected by what information you give us. Why bother asking, if you already know everything good enough to know what is important or not? |
