As several posters said, testing just the DS18B20 device on its own is a pointless exercise (certainly on a commercial basis) - or, worse, could actually damage the devices.

But testing a completed assembly that incorporates the device does make sense.

Hence it is totally on-topic and necessary to the discussion to know the full details!
