I believe with a bit of work I can look for the trigger real time on a contemporary PC at 1MB/s rate. And I don't mind if I find it a second or two later than it occurs, it just grabs a couple of MB more data, but that really does not matter.

I repeat myself, quick'n'dirty the idea is, but I believe it might work in an usable way.
