#111541 - all good and well Responding to: ???'s previous message |
but with the aid of a Windows driver for your EPP-mode parallel port, it goes pretty fast
all good and well, but for a logical analyzer you need not only sufficient speed (is "pretty fast" fast enough) but also a constant clock rate. If Windows decide to react to something (as a multitasking environment it must) in the middle of your analysis, what value does the readout have except sending you on a wild goose chase. Of course, if you make the "catcher" separate and implement a FIFO "pretty fast" may very well do it and, at least, you can get an overrun message rather than depend on erroneous data. Erik |
