Come to think of it, from my own experience Philips (now NXP) did a lot more to support 8051 end-users than Intel ever did! lol Intel had quit actively promoting the 805x core well over 20 years ago, IIRC. At that time, they were busily promoting the '96, 196, 197, etc. At that time, i.e. about 1989, I was working with a defense/aerospace company that was heavily invested in '805x, yet was moving to '196/197 because of the support. In '85 they were still pushing the 805x pretty hard. RE |
