Just look at history, it's no great secret that Atmel are dragging their feet when comes to their 8051 range. Now that they have their xmega range available they can safely introduce 64k flash, 51's at 20mips. We were promised the AT89lp6440 about 3 years ago and still today there's nothing.
Do yourself a favour guys, ditch the '51 and go AVR for less than £100, with compiler supporting 64bit floats.
