#178660 - Different tools good at different times Responding to: ???'s previous message |
There are a number of USB scopes that are very, very inexpensive just because they are basically a microcontroller with USB and ADC.
It really doesn't matter if you can, or can not see the delay between ALE and another signal in case the goal with the scope is to measure slower analog signals in a linear power supply or in an audio amplifier etc. Just because there exists tools that are better for specific tasks, there are still other tools that are very useful and don't need to be very expensive. I have also seen PC scopes where the PC software has been awailable for download and where the file format has been documented. This means that it is possible for a hobbyist to take a processor with an 8-bit ADC and collect data and store in this file format. Then use the PC software to load the data and look at a waveform and place cursors to measure time or amplitude. |
