An AC Coupled "sound card scope" with a bandwidth in the 20Hz area is going to be pretty useless in carefully evaluating power supply decay levels, reset circuit thresholds and getting a careful trigger level that can lead you to understanding the circuit operation.

I suspect that such "scope" use would be a challenge for in this situation even for seasoned electronics folks. Hand that type tool to a beginner or one inexperienced at probing for electronics waveforms and I would guess more confusion will be generated then any enlightenment gained.
