#178492 - totally irrelevant Responding to: ???'s previous message |
A reset supervisor would be better than the RC rest and may make the problem go away
correction A reset supervisor is better than the RC 'reset' and will make the problem go away An easy and interesting experiment would be to increase the value of the reset circuit resistor to see at what point the problem goes away The capacitor value is totally irrelevant at power down, one of the many issues with a RC 'reset' is that there is no reset during power down only during infrequent power up. use a supervisor chip never use RC 'reset'. also, in many cases, the uC may erase some flash program memory during the uncontrolled power down resulting from using RC 'reset'. now, before someone start babbeling about RC resets in the datasheets: "the manufacturers always show the cheapest use of their chips whethere it is good or not" Erik |
