#177762 - Single-minded Responding to: ???'s previous message |
He wanted to use assembly language, else he wouldn't have asked for an assembler. He wanted to use his 80C31, as that was what he asked That is an assumption, or should I write Ass-u-me? When I did start with 8031 chips, I did not know about any existence of any C compiler. I had assembler or PLM-51. I remember when Dr Dobbs had an article about Small-C - an attemt at getting C "lite" to microcontrollers/microprocessors. If the OP wrote the question based on some dusty old book from the time when 8031 chips where new, it probably only mentions assembler. A question about an assembler does not carry any information at all about what the OP wanted to use. He wanted to use his 80C31, as that was what he asked. "Wanting" is a feeling. Do you know what the OP feels? I regularly use components without "wanting" to use them. Had other options been available, I would probably have "wanted" to use something else. That's possible, but in the absence of any other information, isn't it reasonable to conclude, from his statement, that he wants to program an 80C31, and to do so in ASM? Whatever conclusions you may make: Isn't it polite to mention alternatives - especially if a lot of people thinks the alternatives are better? You are single-minded and get irritated if not everyone else is as single-minded. |
