I sense a trend.

A newbie posts a vague question. One person, quite rightly, replies: "Be more specific!" Another person, quite rightly, gives a good response, saying, "if you're starting out, these tools are much better."

Then the thread somehow devolves into a wearisome debate between Richard and everyone else (I include myself in the "everyone else" category) about, well, everything: debug monitors vs JTAG debug, assembler vs C, whether a certain vendor's products are suitable because the support folks allegedly don't support assembler, etc etc.

Needless to say the OP vanished after not answering Andy's questions. Maybe he came back, looking for replies, and when he saw the pissing match, that was that.

The lesson, as always, is "don't feed the troll."
