That's a complete guess! Or, at least, it's no better than the guess that he has no real commitment to ASM and/or the 80C31.

I'd guess he'd prefer the lower-cost option. What do you think?

I think the antique approach will end up costing more (or, at least, the same) for far less satisfying results.
