If the Bible has randomly made up story's then Jesus is a lier, or a lunatic. Or, more likely, the men who wrote it, decades or even centuries after the death of someone called Jesus, had an agenda, and claimed divine inspiration to author the "Word of God." Why then, believe in a book that centers around a man who was crazy and/or a lier? It would be weird to receive lessons and wisdom from a book centered around a lying lunitic. Why, then, indeed? That's the $64,000 question. Plus it means you can't get to heaven by repenting for you sins and believing Jesus died for your sins. I don't have any problems because I don't believe in any of that. Quite frankly, I find the whole notion completely irrational. Which then mean you should be able to do whatever you want(lie, cheat, steal, rape, murder... without _eternal_ consequence). Oh, yeah, just like those evangelists (all of whom have accepted Jesus) who preach against the very sins they commit. Funny, that, and once they're caught, the first thing they do is start prayin' to Jesus for forgiveness. I am especially annoyed by the hypocrites who are vehemently anti-gay, then are of course found out to be homosexual, and once outed, they retreat to some hole where they pray and declare themselves "cured" of their homosexuality. PUH-LEEZE. (Obviously it should be clear that I do not believe that homosexuality is a sin.) -a |
