Hi Richard,
I'd find it really interesting to see what it is to which you refer, in this context. At least we know a good proportion of what is in the newspaper is fiction. While works of fiction can, and frequently do, present great truths, that's not the role of a newspaper. I'm not suggesting that scripture is no more reliable than the newspaper. What I'm saying is that when you read the newspaper you don't have to stop and deliberate whether a statement is literal or figurative. It's obvious, and unless it's either written or read by a moron, not really open to interpretation. Read scripture the same way, like it means what it says and says what it means, and you will find no conflict with science. You'll find lots of conflict with secularism, but none with true science. |
