#169075 - Tony Gelonese's method should work... Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Hi Tony Gelonese,
This has nothing related to the OPs query. But I think that your method will work and without violating any rules. This will work if we implement protocols such as Modbus or even in products that use simple protocols as in multi-dropping RS485 networks. Hardware: We can have 2 MCS51's with TX Shorted to TX of other MCS51 and connected to MSX232 TransmitterIN pin. I don't think it will be a problem to either of the MCS51 as far as harware is concerned. I am talking specifically of MCS51's that have weak internal pullups on TX Pins, such as AT89C52. You can also have the RecieverOUT pin of MAX232 going to RX pin of both MCS51. I don't think there will be any problem to either of the MCS51's. Software: Each of the MCS51 has a different ID hardcoded in firmware or through DIP Switch or user interface. And if we implement a Modbus protocol; then I think this method will actually work...without "Bottles of Aspirin". Am I missing some point here?...if so please inform me about it. |
