#187739 - FPGA pulse Expander (edited) Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Erik
Actually I have been playing with FPGA to expand and shorten pulses with great success, My only concern is to be able to measure width of small pulses so that I can use for my experimentation. After reviewing instruments I have in my workshop, I found a high accuracy frequency counter measuring frequencies (probably time width need to verify tomorrow) up to 2.4 GHz, so probably my money spent on expensive scope is not justified for this project, but it will be great instrument to have for future use. Do you know a fast monostable chip part number? Per: I was thinking of making one pin of fpga produce 30nsec for triggering the scope while the other pin produce 1 to 10 nsec pulses to see if scope can measure it as Erik suggested. Mahmood |
