#187338 - Sorry, but no I can't. Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Hi Erik,
Sorry if I gave you or anyone else the impression that I have one of these. I do not. I have an old B&K 20 MHz analog scope that mostly keeps dust off of my shelf, and I have a LeCroy 500 MHz DSO that I use when I need a scope. I only passed this on because I thought it might be helpful to some of the students/hobbiests who can't afford or justify spending thousands of dollars on a real scope. Yes, it's a toy, and as such it's a far cry from a real scope, but it's an even further cry from nothing at all. And if the student/hobbiest who uses it has to learn the hard way the limitations of his pocket scope, at least it's a lesson worth learning. Similarly, if an experienced tech has to learn the hard way that "The signal has no blips" actually means "The signal has no blips that my instrument will measure," then at least that too is a lesson worth learning. I won't speak for you, or anyone else, but I tend to remember best those lessons I learned hardest. Joe |
