Precision rectifier is suitable for any waveform, the limitations are as I stated earlier, so you won't find that proof or solid reasons.
I do not know if micro (u) is sure, but I am if you use a precision rectifier that has the bandwidth

I refered IC that gives Precision reficifation but vendor also mention that SCR waveform error will be more...
0% for pure waveform => 20%-30% for distorted waveform......
when refering to an IC DO give a link to the datasheet.
the IC you refer to must be severely bandwidth limited
