Now I know, why your DC current reading is so little! Because current is flowing only during a brief period. Is this normal? Is this wished? Is it normal? - not what I expected Is this wished? - I only wish it regulated the current to 3 amps/phase and that I can adjust it down to keep motor temp tollerable. Do you use the same stepper as with your earlier setups, where a much higher current was flowing? Same everything, basically just stuck the L6506 in between the controls. I should note that the original setup does not have the flywheel diodes, only the ones to protect the FET against reverse bias. Steve mentioned, that inductance saturates, but how to manage then much higher currents, which would increase the DC reading to an acceptable value? Kai Got me on that one. Jon |
