Now I know, why your DC current reading is so little! Because current is flowing only during a brief period. Is this normal? Is this wished? Do you use the same stepper as with your earlier setups, where a much higher current was flowing?
Steve mentioned, that inductance saturates, but how to manage then much higher currents, which would increase the DC reading to an acceptable value?
