Thanks for the link - I had a look through it, and I figure that somewhere along the line I ought to pick up the three 'C and the 8051' books.

First, though, I'm going to head to my local bookstore and see if they have (or can get) the 2nd Edition 'The C Programming Language'. Failing that, maybe they'd have 'C for Dummies'... :-)
