(this can boot load the Atmel devices, and talk to any TTL RS232 system) That's only partly true... you can only get so far, 'Silabs alone'. Yes, the SiLabs Toolstick does have an External Terminal- ToolStickTerminal.exe ( Note the ide-built-in Terminal has a bug, presently pending a fix.. ), but that has a custom interface, via the Silabs firmware chip, which does not appear as a COMx port, and so if you ever want to test what customers use, or even run your own systems talking to PC software that is NOT the SiLabs IDE, then you will need a Standard Serial Link. |
