#189340 - Yep, shall be starting with 8-bit Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Erik,
Yes I am starting with 8-bit. My background is that, I am a programmer (around 3 years of experience) with languages C++ (on Unix), Java, etc. I have read Mazidi & Mazidi's book 8051 Microcontrollers & Embedded System, and found nothing difficult with Assembly language. So currently I am enthusiastic, and want to start with it practically. If I get to do things in real world (like on-job), would be good for me. The reason behind asking, if '51 would would be outdated, is my background. In the world of IT & Computers, things getting outdated have now become a pattern, so its better if we start with latest. But as I came to learn from forum, its more about hardware-availability, and its application. There is hardly a motivation for things being outdated. Also I wish to stick with '51 & ARM, as you already said, I will need to learn specific things only. Probably it will be having higer availability and atleast thats the simplest thing I can think to start with (for self-learning). Thank you very much, Abhishek |
