Can Silabs be programmed on breadboards? By "Breadboards", I presume you mean something like this; more precisely known as "solderless breadboards": http://www.kpsec.freeuk.com/breadb.htm http://www.coolcomponents.co.uk/catalog/b...8_125.html Clearly, for any microcontroller to be directly usable on one of those, it has to be in a 0.1"-pitch DIL Package (DIP): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dual_in-line_package - and I don't beleive that SiLabs do any of their micros in DIP. In fact, very few manufacturers do anything in DIP these days. Yes, you can get adaptors - often known as "breakout boards" - to convert modern packages to 0.1"-pitch: eg, http://www.coolcomponents.co.uk/catalog/b...3_109.html But, by the time you've got one of those, you might just as well use a Dev Board! You can always build your external circuitry on a Solderless Breadboard, and connect that to a Dev Board... Note that Solderless Breadboards are not very reliable, and only suitable for very low-fequency, low-power work... |
