#189364 - My reason for recommending a f12x kit Responding to: ???'s previous message |
As you recommended f12x kit ( http://www.silabs.com/products/...120DK.aspx ), if possible, could you explain me if there are any difference with f34x kit? ( http://www.silabs.com/products/...340DK.aspx ). If it is any better by any chance, or is it just a different thing. Just a query.
a f3x kit will do fine. My reason for recommending a f12x kit is twofold 1) SILabs basically make two kinds of '51s both have a TRUE - albeit much faster - '51 core, however the derivatives (f0x-f2x) have peripherals that are close to other brands, whereas the 'deviates' (f3x -up) have peripherals unique to SILabs. So, if you plan to stay with SILabs by all means use f3x, if not the learned things will transfer better to other brands if you learn from f0x-f2x. 2) the f12x has just about any peripheral imagined AND you do NOT have to use them till you get comfortable with the basics. Once you are comfortable with basich, you can start learnong I²C, SPI, A/D, D/a, comparators ..... you must, to work with the '51 have a copy of 'the bible' the original 'bible' had many chapters, but any chapter after 3 was a datasheet for a now discontinues chip.
