Would I, running heavy compiles of ARM code, buy the cheapie?, of couse not, but try running Keil on a Mac. "Heavy compiles" are probably the lightest things I do with my computer. Browsing the net is way more power-hungry, than compiling source code unless we are talking of full rebuilds of millions of code lines. But yes - I have set up a number of machines with processors in that size range. I have a server with a similar AMD processor - very little money gave it 8GB of RAM and a second gbit NIC, allowing it magnificent performance. |
