In the same arena (ok, live sound vs studio), Avid's Venue series of consoles are also based on Windows Embedded. One reason is that users can use the same plug-ins they use with Pro Tools and install them on the live console and everything is familiar. (I think the Soundcraft Vi series sounds better than the Avid, and has a more-intuitive user interface, but I digress.) -a |
