Windows embedded seems to be winning on both of those at the moment.


In the same arena (ok, live sound vs studio), Avid's Venue series of consoles are also based on Windows Embedded. One reason is that users can use the same plug-ins they use with Pro Tools and install them on the live console and everything is familiar.

(I think the Soundcraft Vi series sounds better than the Avid, and has a more-intuitive user interface, but I digress.)
