There are plenty of companies that will provide linux (and othe open-source) support on a professional, commercial basis. Isn't that what Red Hat does these days? linux started life as a geeks plaything then real engineers decided it might be useful, then ran smack into the attitude of geek programmers. I think the real problem is with the lazy cheapskates who just think they can get something for nothing. If you're prepared to enter properly into the open-source "community" spirit, and/or to engage support on a proper, professional basis - then I'm sure you'll be fine... |
