Therefore, I would far rather have no prototyping area at all on the board itself, but 0.1" pitch headers to bring all signals easily out to whatever "breadboard" arrangement the individual user prefers. Like this kind of thing: The soldered-in crystal would make this module a non-starter in my environment. I'd prefer the IC alone, aside from power supply bypass, because the quality of most such modules is so low that an attempt to desolder/replace the crystal and associated cap's would almost certainly destroy the module. After all, they don't know what's "close enough." RE |
