Non-technical managers who do not understand that the first point of contact with the customer isn't the oily sales rep, it is when the engineer opens the box and finds a pile of crap which doesn't work.Time after time at my current, but only for another week employer, we set up demonstration systems and within a week the customer comes back and says it doesn't do what we asked for, the reason why is because nobody actualy tested it before shipping, and the attitude from the director of engineering is 'oh I don't employ people who make mistakes', if we don't make mistakes then we must be super human and should be paid a hell of a lot more I say. |
