So you're convinced that every time-of-day can be presented at five-minute increments with the available text, and the minutes count described by the four LEDs in the corners, or none when the count is zero? Well, they wouldn't be selling it as a clock if that were not possible, would they?! Do you think students are "up-to" such a project Yes, that is why I suggested it! would they be first-year, or second-year students? I would think a "final year" project. Based on what I've gathered from both Erik and Per, this is a first-or-second year level project in electronics/computer science. The circuitry is simple, the coding is trivial. The only challenge is the "artsy-fartsy" display, and that's a manufacturing challenge, not a circuits or coding problem. Now, doing the whole thing really well, cleanly, and presenting it as a completed project development ... well, that might be worthy of a bit more, but as-is ... it's a design problem, and not an engineering one. After all, a couple of guys experienced in the related technology came up with a solution in a few days' spare time. A final year project should reflect at least 750-1000 man-hours of diligent and concentrated effort. RE |
