Why don't we admit engineering is very hard work and is cheap labor, if you want to get real money either be a politician, doctor or lawyer, even economist.
If an engineer starts with management early in his life, he will forget about engineering and his status goes higher. While the good engineer stays like a glorrified technician.
The problem is good engineers can earn lots of money, but they have to work double hard for it, while the others get easy money.
I have engineering as a hobby, so I don't mind working hard, but the problem starts when i get old and can't work that hard.
