Thanks Prof. Kai Klass,

Are you sure, that the heater is 230V rated at all and not 110V? Yes the heater is rated for 230V. Kai Klaas said:
A heater, that cannot withstand the full mains voltage for some seconds or so but needs control over milliseconds periods seems to me to be a really bad design. Maybe the heater is the problem and it is just unhappy coincidence that it failed with your controller? I believe this is the coincidence. Because, I have already sold over 200 Nos. of these controllers, but none of them had this problem. This is happening at one one customer place. The Power supply is not proper in those areas. They use a Generator Set if there is a Mains Power Failure. So, if the Generator generates High Voltage during the Starting Time, then this might cause the heater to fail. Anyways, by this experience, I will be able to build a better product. Thanks All. There is a nice saying: Necessity is the Mother of Invention. Well, I am building a better product out of necessity. |
