#169099 - And this is the petty stuff I'm talking about Andy Responding to: ???'s previous message |
This post is directed at both Richard and Andy (because I'm to tired and mostly like in your opinion to lazy to quote it all again):
Again, great job on hunting my resume down, great job of pointing out that I didn't use perfect grammar in my sentences. THAT is exactly was I'm talking about since the first post in this thread, you spend so much time on these petty things. Oh, I forgot, this is the rigid, proper etiquette site, not an 8052 forum focused on a piece of hardware/software solution. I looked to see if the description said, ensure exact grammar is used prior to posting any question about the 51. No, doesn't say that anywhere, and writing in a forum thread because you said so, doesn't count. It does say this though which Erik and others love to point out that beggars can't be choosers: Welcome to The 8052 Online Resource, a free service provided courtesy of Vault Information Services. And of course its says: And, of course, enjoy your stay at 8052.com. Hmm, yep threads like this really let that statement happen huh? I guess that my grammar will directly affect looking up code uchar BarValues[] = {0x00,0x03,0x0F,0x3F,0xFF}; right? I know that there are people from all walks of life and from different continents. People want to see resumes look a certain way, its way it is. (yes, I left its just like that, because I can) You can argue all day about well that shouldn't be on there because don't know off the exact top of your head what a union function template looks like. Wow, if that one thing in the whole entire C language no longer makes it a "key skill" for me, then I guess I'm guilty. Call the Resume police. If a couple of things like your and you're cause people to not have "respect" because you think that the poster didn't "take enough time", well who is really uptight? Really you're not going to help someone because of what you think proper grammar should be.....really? There are times Andy I find you very helpful and like with all the (sic) corrections, just the the opposite. You really want to spend more time scolding someone about proper English that help them with a possible array over run problem? But again that is my opinion. Who cares if you envy what I take for granted, this is my country, and if those that are jealous, move here and becomes a citizen. Stop shaking your head and tell how great I have it and don't realize it........in fact when I do. That is part of my birth right whether you think I deserve it or not. I don't expect to have anything both ways, but I surely am not going box myself out of a job position because of some high and mighty line you folks draw. I am and have always been honest about my skills, and it is always framed as, I've worked with all of the items listed on my resume, I am strongest in XYZ i.e. hardware more than software with the exception of the CAD tools. Employers at least in MY experience want a candidate to hit the ground running as you say, and being honest with them, I leave it in THEIR court to determine if my non Guru status is acceptable on some of the things I've listed. A resume opens the door, its up to the employer and the employee to talk and discuss what the candidate can and can not do. It is up to the candidate to be up front and honest about said capabilities, and in doing so I've always come out ahead. Come pay my mortgage, when you do, then you can make all the judgments and critiques you like. And for the record. I'm 37, Two weeks after I graduated I started working in 92 at a Semiconductor house for 8 years in engineering before they were bought out, taught college level electronics for 7 years, and now my current position as a camera design engineer for 2 years. Obviously someone thinks my attitude and skill sets are right on the money. Whether you agree with that or not is mute point. And to me, that is all that really counts whether one agrees or not. Richard, you think you are so smug by saying you can't believe that I can excel in anything or however you said it, give me a break. You just show your ass every time you say stuff like that. Who are you? The posting god? I may be wrong in 'your' eyes, but then again, who the hell are you? Oh yeah, nobody. |
