You didn't get where you are magically and I'm sure your mentors didn't brow beat you either, try putting the shoe on the other foot......unless of course you have two left feet.
in the olden days (and still, on occasion) I ASK for help. Most often I got it because I was ASKING for it and did my best to make my question specific and clear. Now you try to defend the posters that come in DEMANDING help and I wholehardedly disageree with your 'sympathy'. Everyone needs help at some point and whether its here or somewhere else, playing the high and mighty card.....uncool....and unnecessary. if "do some work and come back" or "be specific" is "playing the high and mighty" then I am glad that I am doing so If you want (free) help you have to accept that beggars can't be choosers. Erik I am not defending any of those people, but I take offense that default response is "didn't search first" is always the answer or RTFM. I'm not saying it applies to all cases. I can only speak from MY observations of what happened to me. I made a point of what I felt, and how I was dealt with. I spoke form both sides of the same equation. The site is FREE, so that must mean the help is too. I'm not trying to defend anyone except myself, and as a beggar at the time, I never tried to choose, I learned from what was given and evolved. The problem is the self righteous and "how dare you ask the same question" is why I mentioned that it may "seem" like things are slowing down. Since its seems to all be done before, questions will be asked and answered. So really, if it is a repeat and it ANNOYS some, then just don't post or move on, the thread dies and no one get ruffled.....that just doesn't seem to happen here. It almost seems like goal for people to spank others.......and what does that really achieve......the answer is nothing. |
