Even with Google, its difficult to wade through the material. And like anything else, you have to know what your looking for. Granted, there are those asking homework questions, and ok, I can see the need to make them do their own work. Yes, and that's a BIG share of 'em. I've experienced both ends of this, and have been helped by a few members here in which I'm very grateful, and I've also experienced the "wtf are you doing in that job if you have to ask such a basic question?" Stuff like that makes me want to jump through the screen and dole out an all out azzkickin for such a snotty ass uncalled for comment.
People come to the site because it is relevant to what they are doing, and it seems, at times, they run into this wall of ego. People can choose not to help, post, but instead lecture people on how things are done and referred to the bible before approaching the 8051 gods with any sort of question that could have been extrapolated from the user manual. I believe that's where your logic does off the track. I believe most people come here in the hope that someone else will do their work, often their thinking, too, for them. I have found though, that for the most part, people do try to help, but most people remember the bad more than the good.
So when people read through the basic posts, some/most may not want to deal with that type of confrontation. Does it apply in all cases and the major cause of this threads subject, hell no, but I bet it does add substantially to that part of the equation in my opinion. Anyone who asks a reasonably thought-out question is likely to get a reasonably thought-out answer. Those who cry because their homework is due in four hours and they haven't cracked a book yet, ... well ... Again, this is my observation and only my opinion. ... and I can certainly see why you feel that way. However, don't you tire of seeing people begging someone to do the same homework as last term, and the term before, again and again and again? All they have to do is to search for it. It was done five years ago! RE |
