No, they didn't brow-beat me; but they didn't spoon-feed me either! They expected me to put in some real effort!

When I needed to find stuff out, that meant physically going to the library, lifting books off shelves, reading them, taking notes, etc...

There where no websites where you could just download datasheets, etc, at the click of a mouse; datasheets were published in inch-thick databooks - if you were lucky enough to get hold of a databook, you would guard it with your life!

So pardon me if I think that someone who hasn't even managed to sit at their PC and type a few kewords into google hasn't really tried...

Everyone needs help at some point and whether its here or somewhere else, playing the high and mighty card.....uncool....and unnecessary.

But spoon-feeding the ones who have made no effort at all is no help to anyone!

Do you honestly beleive that these are diligent students, keen to work hard on their assignments?

Do you have kids, Chris? If so, do they ever ask you for help with their homework?
Mine do, and it would often be easier to just take it off them and do it myself rather than spend time explaining the stuff so that they can do it themsleves - but who would that help?!
